In the last 15 years, 21 million saplings have met with the soil in Istanbul, which has a rich vegetation with its forested areas, natural parks and recreation areas. In the city, where 43.9 percent of its area is forest, approximately 2 thousand hectares of land are afforestation and erosion control activities are carried out every year and 2 million saplings are planted with the soil.
